My Little (or not so little anymore) Artist

A drawing by Yesmin back in July, it reminds me a little bit of Picasso's style...

She's also getting very good at paper cutting. Just by using my scrap papers, cut, cut, cut, snip, snip, snip, and a whole lot of tiny paper on the floor...this is what she created...

Note that the girl is holding a fan on her hand, partially covering her face. She's also wearing a belt with a flower buckle, and the cuff on her pants are made with pattern papers!

The Cost of Potty Training...

The COST of potty training Lucas for #2:

Cube and Stack Wall-E : $11
Neville the train : $11 (thank God for the 40% coupon from Michael's!)
Sheriff (from the Cars movie) : $ 6
Expression in the toilet : PRICELESS!!

Potty training

It's been a rough past 7 days or so. Potty training Lucas to do his #2 in the potty is a whole lot more difficult than anything else. He has a strong personality, very determine to do what HE wants, or in this case, doesn't want!

It's funny how both Yesmin and Lucas are potty trained almost at the same age. They both nail #1 AND the night time training before #2. I've talked to other parents about potty training, and most of them had trouble with training their child, especially boys, for the night time routine. While both my kids nail it down within a week. In fact, Lucas just decided one night that he doesn't want the diaper anymore, and THAT was it!

However, when it comes to doing their #2's...Gosh, it's like a nightmare! Yesmin didn't do it in the toilet until she was 2 weeks shy of 4 years old! Lucas will be turning 4 in about 3 weeks, and I am hoping he will do better than his sister.

Last Thursday, I finally couldn't take it anymore, I took him to Toys 'R Us to get a Wall-E toy. I told him that if he does it in the toilet, he could open up Wall-E and play with it. It took him more than an hour (with some breaks in between) and some prune juice before he finally felt relaxed enough to go. Then he held it for another 4 days, and this time, I got him a Neville train. On the same night, he did it again, and got a Bertie the Bus that we got it for free from the recall. That was on Monday. It's Wednesday now, and he is still holding back...I was hoping 3's the charm...apparently NOT. =(

Trying it out..

I've been told that blogging is fun. But I have so many interest and so little time, that I have been putting it off. Recently I've been reading my friends blogs, and it is so fun to see them updating their lives to share with friends and family....so, I thought I'd give it a try...We'll see how it goes... Wish me luck! =)
