It's been a rough past 7 days or so. Potty training Lucas to do his #2 in the potty is a whole lot more difficult than anything else. He has a strong personality, very determine to do what HE wants, or in this case, doesn't want!
It's funny how both Yesmin and Lucas are potty trained almost at the same age. They both nail #1 AND the night time training before #2. I've talked to other parents about potty training, and most of them had trouble with training their child, especially boys, for the night time routine. While both my kids nail it down within a week. In fact, Lucas just decided one night that he doesn't want the diaper anymore, and THAT was it!
However, when it comes to doing their #2's...Gosh, it's like a nightmare! Yesmin didn't do it in the toilet until she was 2 weeks shy of 4 years old! Lucas will be turning 4 in about 3 weeks, and I am hoping he will do better than his sister.
Last Thursday, I finally couldn't take it anymore, I took him to Toys 'R Us to get a Wall-E toy. I told him that if he does it in the toilet, he could open up Wall-E and play with it. It took him more than an hour (with some breaks in between) and some prune juice before he finally felt relaxed enough to go. Then he held it for another 4 days, and this time, I got him a Neville train. On the same night, he did it again, and got a Bertie the Bus that we got it for free from the recall. That was on Monday. It's Wednesday now, and he is still holding back...I was hoping 3's the charm...apparently NOT. =(

You didn't tell me that you started a blog!!! I'm so glad that you did...it's such a great way to keep in touch. I'm so bad about calling and e-mailing, but I can usually find a few extra minutes at midnight to post a short one. Welcome!!

I wonder just how many toys you'll need to get Lucas before he can do #2 without the rewards!! Poor mommy! I think I may even go through the same experience with Ian next time.. :-(

Yes, mommy is running out of $$ to buy rewards for him! So, he better master it SOON...cos' otherwise he'll be having prune juice in every single meal!
I'm sure when it's his turn to potty training his kids in the future, he'll thank me for posting this!!! =P
Hahaha... That's the cost of starting them late... I've already started potty-trining Shuyin when she turned 1. It wasn't easy... and 4 months later, it's still not easy!
